With My Story in Words, you write your autobiography in small steps guided along the way with our unique story topics.
Getting started
You won’t feel lost for words thanks to our intuitive approach. We have over 200 topics in our story library to help you begin - simply choose one and write.
Stay inspired
Each of our topics has prompts, questions, and thoughts. These help you remember stories from your life and unearth forgotten details. As you progress, chapter-by-chapter, we hope you’ll find the process easy and enjoyable.
It’s your story
You make the rules! Write as much or as little as you like. Include as many photos as you want or none at all. Most importantly, go at your own pace. You can even add your own topics if there’s something not covered in our library.
Share the journey
The journey is just as important as the finished product. With our invitation feature, you can share your stories as you complete them with family and friends, and they can suggest story topics or add their own.
Publish your story
When you feel ready, use our dedicated printing service to publish as many physical copies of your book as you like. These make cherished keepsakes for you and your loved ones to enjoy for years to come.
It doesn’t stop there. At any time you, or your family and friends, can go back and add more stories, making it a living piece of history.
A straightforward, easy-to-use interface, ideally laid out for silver surfers who want to capture their memories that might otherwise be lost. I especially like the Curator mode which allows me to guide my elderly mother through compiling and organising her own story, so along with contributions from family members ‘My Story in Words’ will result in a printed record of her nearly 80-year life. This journey is already exciting and the destination will be a legacy of the matriarch of our family, her story enjoyed by the junior members.

My mum has recently started writing My Story. She was initially quite hesitant, unsure about whether she could write about herself. However, the project is set out very well with many practical prompts and it is also very flexible to suit any author. She now has complete ownership of the project and is thoroughly enjoying it and writing every day.

It is so easy to pick up and type up some words when you have time and write something, as little or as much as you have the inclination for.

I’m sure a lot of people think about writing down some of their life history but never get around to it. My Story leads you into it, and the titles of the various stories are good starting points. I have ended up writing about things that wouldn’t have otherwise occurred to me. I would think a good idea for the slightly older generation, to spark them into action.

For my mum and as a family it has been a very rewarding experience so far. She has shared her stories of starting school, early childhood memories and friends, many of which we had never heard before and most of which she hadn’t thought about for a very long time. My children and I have loved reading the story and chatting and laughing about all the anecdotes with her. It is a lovely bonding experience and great to have it all written down for the future.
